that magical time of day

Tarifa (Cádiz - Andalucía), Spain

I know I've posted a picture similar to this one earlier, but I couldn't resist!  Here's another one of Tarifa, this time including its castle, with the silhouette of Morocco in the background.  This is my absolute favorite time of day, when the light turns everything a golden color.  Its as if time stops everything happening around you.

high tide or low tide?

Cabo Roche (Cádiz - Andalucía), Spain

Continuing along the coastline beyond Roche, between Cabo Roche (Cape Roche) and Conil de la Frontera, is a wonderful area of coves tucked away among the cliffs.  It's a nice way to spend the day.  It is a good idea, however, to know when the high and low tides are, otherwise you may have a shorter day than you expected!

Jay Pritzker Pavilion

Chicago, Illinois - USA

Architect Frank Gehry and his team designed the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in downtown Chicago's Millennium Park.  It is considered one of the most state of the art outdoor music pavilions in the world with seating for as many as 11,000 people.

There is nothing more cool than to sit here and listen to free live music with Lake Michigan on one side of you and amazing architecture on the other!

skyscrapers along the river

Chicago, Illinois - USA

The Chicago River originally flowed into Lake Michigan, but due to high levels of pollution and the water supply being threatened, it was decided to reverse the flow of the river by building a series of canals.  This river eventually connected with the Illinois River which in turn connected with the Mississippi River flowing all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.  The Chicago River turned out to become an important link between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River Valley.
